During the course ”Advanced typography” we had the task to come up with a concept, write, design and bind a book about typography. We also had to explain the overall history about typography.
The book ”futurum” is about the contemporary and future typography.
I wanted to replace old and well used typefaces with newer, modern followers. For example I replaced Futura with Neutraface, Helvetica with Akkurat and Caslon with Adobe Garamond.
Together with synonyms to the word ”future” I’ve illustrated the old and new typefaces. The orange color shows the newer fonts through out the book.
